Buying trip to Delhi, India September/August 2011
I am on Day 2 of my buying trip for Miss Hollywood Jewelry and I am thoroughly enjoying myself! I am having lots of fun picking out new colors for the fall and designing my own pieces. Yes, I am now designing my own pieces!!!!!
He is making a stretch bracelet with hand-made acrylic "Meena Beads" intertwined with Swarovski crystals! These bracelets have been a great hit this past season and can be worn anytime of the year! It looks wonderful when you stack them with all of the different colors
What is a "Meena Bead"? Its origin is Rajasthan, India and the bead itself is acrylic with inlay work. "Inlay work" and in this case it is a flower, is a design or pattern on an object which is made by putting materials into the surface of the object ie. the bead.

Ubi Caritas The Third Annual Date Auction Fund Raiser
I had a great time working on the committe this year! Ubi Caritas does wonderful things for the community and this years date auction was a success! Raising plenty more from last year!! Ubi Caritas is an organization that provides medical services to low income and uninsured individuals in the area.
This event auctioned off some of the most eligible singles in Southeast Texas. Each bachelor and bachelorette comes with a great date package; including sporting event tickets, dinners, and excursions. I was able to style one bachlorette this year!! Meagan is wearing MHJ jewelry from head to toe. She was wearing a dress by Ana Sui from Bella Bella, one of Beaumont's finest boutiques that offers many high-end lines and one of a kind dresses. She is wearing the "Flower Power" earrings that have cascading gold plated flowers adorned with tiny multi colored crystals. To complete her look she is wearing a hand-made metal "Kundan Ring" with a semi-precious stone in the middle that you possibly find in the jewelry box of the royal jewels of India!

MHJ went to market!!!
Miss Hollywood Jewelry went to market, the Wichita Junior League Holiday Galleria to be exact. What an experience! We had a great time, and received a lot of great feedback from the shoppers. It's always interesting to see what ladies in other cities find to their liking. Everyone kept commenting on our name, Miss Hollywood Jewelry. They LOVED the name, and our hot pink and black booth. Included in our decor were two pairs of hot pink stilettos, metal & totally not made for walkin. Everyone stopped to talk about the shoes, even guys, wondering if they were real or not. Of course NOT, no one wears metal shoes! LOL! All in all, we had a great time, learned a lot, and got to hang out with some really fabulous girls.
